Accomplishments of Utah pioneer women

Description

To the honor of the women of Utah, Annie Taylor Hyde suggested the founding of the society of the Daughters of the Pioneers, which was founded on April 11, 1901. This work, presented by Daughters of Utah Pioneers, honors the pioneer women of Utah for their accomplishments. Among the pioneer mothers, three names stand out preeminent among their sisters. The Pioneer monument at the head of Main street, Salt Lake City, bears the names of these women: Harriet Page Wheeler Young, Clara Decker Young, and Ellen Saunders Kimball. These three noble ladies, who may in the strictest sense be called the Mothers of Utah, were women of such character that in every sense their people and their state ever will be proud to honor.
